Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club Needham Market`s academy graduate Callum Page has signed a professional contract with League One side Ipswich Town.
The 19-year-old has been on trial with the Tractor Boys` under-23 squad over the last few months and has now signed his first professional contract with the club after impressing Kieron Dyer and Terry Butcher during his trial period.
An attacking midfielder, he produced some impressive performances in Needham Market`s under-18 and reserve teams and signed his first senior contract at the start of February 2020.
He started life in the first team very well scoring several goals and always looked to possess the natural ability to go far in the game.
Needham Market boss Kevin Horlock, who is also the club`s academy manager and a former Ipswich favourite, said: “This is not only a big moment for Callum, but also a big moment for Needham Market Football Club. Callum’s family must be very proud of him as we all are and it’s a testament to Callum’s hard work and willingness to develop that gives him the right to now call himself a professional footballer.
“Callum was a pleasure to coach and teach during his time at the academy and we all wish him well in his football journey and will always be welcomed back to visit us at Bloomfields”.
