Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division South club Hartley Wintney have announced the signing of young midfielder Nathan Jones from Combined Counties League Premier Division North side Reading City.

Jones established himself as a first-team player at then-Hellenic League City after impressing in the youth side, and Hartley manager Anthony Millerick saw enough during pre-season to convince him that Nathan can make the transition to Step 3 this season.

He told his club`s website: "After a nervy start, Nathan grew and grew in belief and stature, getting better and better in each game. After a series of positive cameos, Nathan's obvious desire to learn, coupled with a great work ethic, is something we feel could make Nathan a good player for Hartley with a bit of development."

Jones's determination showed in his performance in the friendly against Sutton Common Rovers.

He continued playing through the pain of a foot injury, unbeknown to the coaching staff, only to have a break confirmed the next day after the pain had worsened overnight.
