The Near Misses….

Second chance for Southern League sides in Saturday`s Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying Round.

Unbeaten Premier Division Central club Hednesford Town face a tricky trip to the MyEnergi Stadium in North Lincolnshire on Tuesday night after Northern Premier League Division One East side Cleethorpes Town held the Pitmen to a 1-1 draw at Keys Park.

In front of a crowd of 606, Andre Landell gave the home side a 12th-minute lead.

But they weren`t able to add to that and Clee gradually got themselves back into the game and eventually found an equaliser 17 minutes from time from sub Josh Smaller, who had only been on the field for 2 minutes.

Premier Division South club Chesham United looked to have done enough in their tie at Honeycroft against Isthmian League South Central side Uxbridge as they led 2-1 with the 3rd minute of stoppage time at the end of the game ticking past.

However, Reds` sub Alex Witham popped up to level with literally the last kick of the game to send the game to a replay.

Eaelier, Ezra Ndukuba had given the home side a 22nd-minute lead that the Generals` Mark Kirby had cancelled out within 3 minutes.

And Deese Kasinga`s 36th-minute goal looked to have taken Chesham through – until that last-gasp equaliser.

Chesham`s league rivals Weston-super-Mare and Beaconsfield Town also face replays.

Weston were held to a 2-2 draw at the Optima Stadium by Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Flackwell Heath and Scott Bartlett`s men now face a tricky game at Wilks Park in midweek.

Heath took a 13th-minute lead through Adam Thomas` drive from the edge of the area.

The Seagulls were back on level terms on the half-hour mark through Nick McCootie.

However, Flackwell surprised their hosts by restoring their lead 8 minutes into the second half through Ashley Howell.

But with 18 minutes to go, Jason Pope grabbed the home side`s equaliser.

Beaconsfield were also held to a 2-2 home draw by Combined Counties League Premier Division South side Walton & Hersham.

An 89th-minute equaliser from sub Onur Bakici earned the Swans a second chance after Dylan Kearney and Toby Little had given the Rams a 2-1 lead.

And yet another 2-2 draw earns Division One Central club Welwyn Garden City a home go at Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division Mulbarton Wanderers.

Elliot Bailey`s 79th-minute penalty gave Nick Ironton`s men a second chance after Ben Spaul had given them a 10th-minute lead.

Premier Division South club Merthyr Town face a lengthy midweek trip to Dorset after Wessex Leaguers Hamworthy United held the Martyrs to a 0-0 draw, despite having Jamie Beasley dismissed in the 65th minute.

Another Wessex Premier outfit, Shaftesbury, will also have home advantage now after holding Division One South club Highworth Town to a 1-1 draw - Ashkey Edenborough the Worthians scorer.
