Hayes & Yeading United maintained their 100 per cent start to the 2021/22 Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South season after a hard-fought 1-0 win over a yet-to-win Kings Langley side on Tuesday night at the SKYex Community Stadium.

It was goalless at the break, with Kings defending well. However, within 2 minutes of the restart, Hayes & Yeading broke the deadlock in spectacular fashion when Jordan Norville-Williams gave Kings` keeper Liam Studley no chance with a 30-yard screamer.

Despite a good deal of pressure on the visitors` goal, Paul Hughes` side – who were named as the division`s club of the month for August yesterday – couldn`t add to their tally but comfortably saw the game through to record a seventh successive league win.

Gosport Borough and Farnborough, in second and third place respectively, had disappointing evenings though.

Gosport shared a 0-0 draw at the Webbswood Stadium with Swindon Supermarine.

Both sides had their opportunities, but in the end a draw was probably about right.

Meanwhile, at the Easy As HGV Stadium, Farnborough went down to a second defeat of the campaign to date against improving Harrow Borough.

Harrow started the new season poorly but have now won four league and cup games in succession after a 3-1 verdict on Tuesday.

Striker James Ewington has found his scoring boots and gave Harrow a 17th minute lead which Sam Deering cancelled out 10 minutes later.

However, two goals just before the half-time break killed off the hosts, with Samuel Adenola making it 2-1 in the 43rd minute and then Ewington grabbing his second in injury-time.

Farnborough huffed and puffed in the second half but Harrow held firm for three impressive points.

Weston-super-Mare made it three wins from seven games with a hard-earned 1-0 verdict at the Avenue Stadium against Dorchester Town.

After a goalless opening 45 minutes, the Seagulls broke the deadlock with a terrific effort from Lloyd Humphries, who flicked the ball over a defender before volleying home from 18 yards.

Weston then suffered a blow in the 74th minute when goalkeeper Luke Purnell had to come off with a head injury, and with no sub keeper on the bench, forward Nick McCootie had to don the gloves.

But his defenders dealt well with the Magpies threat and Weston held firm for three points.

Walton Casuals recorded their third win in seven games at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub against Hendon.

It was the Greens who led at the break, courtesy of a 17th minute Liam Brooks effort.

It wasn`t until 12 minutes from time that the Stags managed to pull back on level terms through Adam Liddle.

And then in the 89th minute, Gabriel Odunaike grabbed Casuals` winner, with Hendon having Wilson Carvalho shown a second yellow card AFTER he had been substituted.

Truro City have made a slow start to the new season but gained a second win in a 2-0 success at Yate Town.

Will Dean gave the White Tigers a 39th minute lead that he eventually doubled in the 73rd minute to kill off the Bluebells challenge.

The evening`s other game at the Black Gold Stadium saw Poole Town and Taunton Town share a 2-2 draw.

Gethyn Hill gave the visitors an early 6th minute lead doubled just 4 minutes later through Ollie Chamberlain.

They held their two-goal lead until the 35th minute when Tony Lee pulled the Dolphins back in the game.

But it looked as though the Peacocks were going to head back to Somerset with all three points, until Lee popped up with Poole`s equaliser 4 minutes into stoppage time at the end of the game.
