Second-placed North Leigh welcomed a Barton Rovers side who had lost their previous three league and cup games to Eynsham Park.
The Millers were looking to go to the top of the fledgling table but Rovers looked determined to stop them.
And North Leigh were grateful to eventual man-of-the-match Adam North in the home goal for keeping the scoreline blank at the interval.
Then, just past the hour-mark, Bradley Bell put Rovers in front only for Jordan Thomas to restore parity in the 74th minute.
The winning goal in the 89th minute was a controversial one as Chris Regis was allowed to play on and score with North down injured.
Despite the protests, the goal was given and North Leigh`s coach Michael Alexis said a little too much and was shown a red card.
