It was fairly even until the home side broke the deadlock 3 minutes before half-time when skipper Charlie Wassmer powered home a header from a corner.
And then 3 minutes after the restart, Hayes & Yeading doubled their advantage when a free kick on the edge of the area was hammered past Yate `keeper Martin Horsell by Taylor Miles.
A third goal came right at the end of the contest when Adam Liddle was brought down in the box and Moses Emmanuel made no mistake from the spot.
The win lifted Hayes up to 9th and just two points off a top-five spot, while Yate remain in 18th spot.
