In front of a crowd of 515 at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium, the Seagulls were awarded a penalty in the 34th minute when James Dodd was brought down in the area, but the normally reliable Dayle Grubb put his spot-kick over the bar.

But 8 minutes later, Scott Laird did break the deadlock to put the visitors in front.

And victory was confirmed 7 minutes before the end when former Tivvy man, Jordan Bastin, made it 2-0.

A tremendous crowd of 1,385 saw second-placed Truro City held to a 3-3 draw by second-from-bottom landlords Plymouth Parkway.

Adam Porter gave the White Tigers a 14th-minute lead that Ben Seymour levelled 11 minutes later from the penalty spot.

But Truro went into the break in front, courtesy of a goal from Connor Riley-Lowe right on the whistle for half-time.

A second for Seymour pulled Parkway back on level terms 9 minutes after the restart and then Jack Crago’s 87th-minute effort looked to have won it for Lee Hobbs` side – only for Rocky Neal to make it 3-3 in the 2nd minute of time added on at the end of the thriller.

Salisbury maintained a top-five spot after a 1-0 win at Winchester City, who are now 16th and only a couple of points above the drop zone.

Calvin Brooks scored the all-important goal for the Whites 4 minutes into the second half.

Bottom-markers North Leigh went down to a 16th defeat in 22 games as hosts Swindon Supermarine moved up to tenth place after a 2-1 win at the Webbswood Stadium.

Conor McDonagh gave `Marine a 32nd-minute lead that Aaron McCreadie cancelled out 7 minutes before the break.

What turned out to be the winner came from Harry Williams in the 54th minute.

Hartley Wintney won for the first time in five outings to move to within a point of the safety-mark.

The Row beat Gosport Borough, whose response didn’t arrive until 6 minutes from time through an Abdulai Baggie penalty after Shamar Moore in the 11th minute, a Matt Drage spot-kick on 63 minutes and Toby Neville on 76 minutes had given the hosts a commanding lead.

Yate Town are 18th after sharing a 2-2 draw at Lodge Road with mid-table Merthyr Town.

Matty Harris gave the Martyrs a 10th-minute lead that Zach Drew levelled in the 37th minute.

Toby Raison then gave the Bluebells the lead 8 minutes into the second half, only for Kieran Evans to pull Merthyr back on terms on the hour-mark.

Yate are only a point and a place below Harrow Borough now after they were beaten 2-0 at Earlsmead by Metropolitan Police.

Fabio Sole broke the deadlock by putting the Met in front 4 minutes after half-time.

Herson Rodrigues-Alves made sure of the points with a second for Gavin MacPherson’s side 11 minutes from time.
