Exmouth Chance for Haynes

Pitching In Southern League Division One South club Exmouth Town announced the signing of former Exeter City defender Sam Haynes, who made his debut on Bank Holiday Monday against Willand Rovers.

Haynes trained with the club for a number of weeks as he returned to full fitness, and the full back has now put pen-to-paper.

The 23-year-old started out at Exeter and gained experience with Toolstation Western League Premier Division side Barnstaple Town whilst on the Grecians` books.

After being released from St James’s Park, he signed for Bideford AFC in the summer of 2018.

Exmouth manager Kevin Hill told his club’s website: “I thought he was class, you could see by his touches, he didn’t give it away, comfortable on the ball.

“He hasn’t played for two and a half years, but he’s been training with us for the last month, and he wants to be involved and that’s what I like”.
