Two More Added to Hayes & Yeading Squad

Following the arrival of experienced defender Josh Lelan recently, Paul Hughes, manager of Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Hayes & Yeading United has brought in two more players to bolster his squad.

Midfielder Jean-Baptiste Fischer joins from Vanarama National League South side Oxford City.

The 24-year-old had joined the Hoops in July 2022, having left League One side Wycombe Wanderers.

His career started with French giants Paris-Saint Germain, where he captained junior teams, before leaving to undertake an International Business degree at Georgetown University in the United States.

There he helped the university team win the National Championship in 2019, and three other league titles.

He then moved to the UK to study at Swansea University, and trained with the Swansea City under-23s, before joining Wycombe.

He joined Braintree Town on loan, helping the Iron avoid relegation from the National League South in 2021/22.

Goalkeeper Simon Grant re-joins Hayes & Yeading from league rivals Bracknell Town, although he was also on dual registration with National League South side Hungerford Town.

The 31-year-old had signed for the Robins in May 2022 and dual registered with Hungerford in November 2022.

He transferred to Isthmian South Central side Marlow from Ashford Town (Middx) prior to the start of the season 2013/14 and has also played for AFC Hayes, Slough Town as well as Hayes & Yeading.

Meanwhile, Stan Flaherty, 21, has extended his loan spell with Hayes & Yeading for another month.

The 21-year-old originally moved to the SKYex Community Stadium in November 2022 on a two-month loan from Championship side Queens Park Rangers.

He featured regularly for Rangers` B side after joining in February 2022 and was previously on the books of Arsenal and Newcastle United.
