Hernandez played under current Citizens` manager Marc Weatherstone during his 15 months in charge at Wingate until October 2022.
The 23-year-old has made 15 appearances this season but has been troubled by injury of late.
He is a product of Vanarama National League side Barnet`s youth academy.
He signed his first professional deal at The Hive in the summer of 2018.
In search of first-team football, he enjoyed a one-month loan spell with Wingate in September 2018.
He returned to The Hive and made his senior Bees debut in September 2019 and in the summer of 2020, he signed a new contract.
In August 2022 he returned to Wingate on a more permanent basis.
