Marketmen Pick Up New Striker

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club Needham Market have snapped up attacker Luke Brown from Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Soham Town Rangers.

The 26-year-old had returned to Rangers for a third time in the summer of 2022 and scored 11 goals in 24 appearances.

He had also scored 11 goals in 28 games for Stowmarket Town in the Isthmian League North Division in 2021/22 after joining in November 2021.

Brown started out at Cambridge City as a youngster, before going to play university football in the USA where he represented the University of Maryland.

He returned to England in late 2019, playing for Soham (twice) and Ely City.

He then signed for Southern Premier Division Central side Hitchin Town in the summer of 2020 before stepping up a division with Vanarama National League South outfit St Albans City in June 2021, although he also signed dual forms with Hitchin a month later.

He is the son of former Hitchin player Stuart Brown, who played at Top Field in the early 1990s.
