Frimpong Loaned to the Met for the Rest of the Season

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Metropolitan Police have announced the signing of midfielder Kwaku Frimpong on loan from League One side AFC Wimbledon until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old was part of a batch of academy talents who signed their first professional contracts with the Dons in July 2021 and is now involved at first-team level.

In 2021/22, the tough-tackling midfielder spent time on loan with Isthmian League South Central side Leatherhead, where he made 11 appearances, and Isthmian Premier Division outfit Carshalton Athletic, for whom he appeared 12 times and scored in a 5-4 defeat at Cray Wanderers and has earned senior experience.

He made his first team debut in August 2022 in the EFL Trophy against Aston Villa under-21s and has 4 senior games to date, scoring against Crawley Town in another EFL Trophy tie.

In September 2022 he was sent out on loan to Vanarama National League South outfit Dartford and just returned from spending a month with Isthmian Premier side Potters Bar Town, for whom he played 4 times.

He joined the Dons at the age of 16 after being recommended by former player, Ben Thatcher.
