Ware Return to Third Spot

Ware ended a five-game run without a win in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central on Wednesday night after beating second-from-bottom FC Romania 3-1 at Theobalds Lane.

Ware took a 33rd minute lead from close range through Josh Williams, who had to wait a few second to celebrate after the linesman’s flag was raised. But the referee allowed the goal after consulting his assistant.

Five minutes into the second half, new signing Matthew Campbell-Mhlope scored a fine equaliser on his debut for the Wolves.

But 8 minutes later, Ware restored their lead when Leigh Rose pounced on a poor clearance to score.

The visitors sealed the points in the 83rd minute with a third goal from Brandon Adams.

The defeat stretched FC Romania’s run without a win to eleven matches, whilst Paul Halsey’s Ware side moved above Kidlington and back to third spot on goal difference.
