Ahead of kick-off, Magpies` boss Tim Sills revealed the arrival of Lewis Brown and Max Kinsey-Wellings on `work experience` from Premier League side AFC Bournemouth.

Midfielder Brown has progressed through the Cherries` academy after joining their under-7s.

The 18-year-old is from a footballing family, with his father Phil managing Wessex League Premier outfit Bournemouth Poppies having enjoyed great success at Bournemouth Manor.

Ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, Brown was named captain of the Cherries under-18s by then-lead coach Alan Connell.

And he enjoyed a fine debut for Wimborne, being named as man-of-the-match against Evesham.

Kinsey-Wellings, also 18, is a central defender who joined the AFC Bournemouth academy in the summer of 2021 following his release by Southampton.

He started playing football when he was under-9 and spent a year with Chelsea when he was 10 before moving to Southampton where he spent six years.
