The Devonians had slipped dangerously close to the relegation zone following a run of 11 games without a win.

They welcomed a Paulton Rovers side who were not in the best of form themselves to the Stan Robinson Stadium and took a 15th lead when a half-cleared corner fell to Ashton Hewitt 20 yards from goal, and he smashed the ball past Paulton `keeper Aaron Sainsbury.

It was 1-0 at the break, but only a minute after the restart, the hosts doubled their lead when Ryan Guppy turned and fired past Sainsbury from inside the box.

The visitors` Martin Lenihan on 57 minutes and David O’Hare on 75 minutes, both struck the crossbar.

And then, 4 minutes later, Paulton were awarded a penalty when Ed Butcher was hauled down in the area and O’Hare made no mistake from 12 yards.

Willand survived some late pressure from Paulton to record an important three points which leaves them in 17th, two points behind Lymington Town.
