And in horrendous conditions in Wiltshire, it turned out to be a good night for Waders` striker Jon Clements, who took his tally for the season to date to 23 goals in the league with a hat-trick.
And, unusually, Robbie O’Keefe’s side have now gone six games unbeaten, and have scored three times in their last five!
After a fairly even start, it was 2 minutes before half-time that Biggleswade finally managed to break through when Clements finished off a game of pin-ball in the Worthians` defence.
The second half saw conditions worsen and just 2 minutes after the restart, Clements bagged his second of the game to make it 2-0.
He then struck the crossbar before completing his hat-trick in the 50th minute from close range.
Biggleswade dealt with anything the home side could muster for the rest of the game and now the teams above them will be looking over their shoulders at the Waders` run, which Saturday sees them visit the team they overtook to make sixth, Kidlington.
As for Highworth, they remain two points behind Aylesbury United in 17th place.
