Experienced George in to Aid North Leigh's Relegation Scrap

Joining North Leigh’s attempt of the `great escape` from the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South’s relegation zone is experienced international midfielder AJ George.

The 26-year-old joins the Millers from Southern Premier Division Central leaders Tamworth, for whom he has made 14 appearances this season.

He had joined the Lambs in the summer of 2022 from league rivals AFC Rushden & Diamonds, where he had been since late October 2021 after arriving from Vanarama National League South side Oxford City.

The attacking midfielder started his career with Oxford United, where he made 2 appearances in a League Two side that ultimately earned promotion to League One.

During his time with the U’s, he had a loan spell with Banbury United before moving to Mansfield Town permanently.

He had further spells on loan at Mickleover, Hednesford Town and North Ferriby United, before moving to Chippenham Town on a more permanent basis in February 2019, switching to league rivals Oxford City in December 2019.

He is also an Antigua & Barbuda under-20 and full international, having made two full appearances for his country, scoring the winner on his debut, in a 2-1 win over Aruba in 2016.
