The Urbaser Stadium boss has dual registered a quartet of current Wingate players as back-up for his current squad.
Goalkeeper Fergal Hale-Brown, Ryan Sellers, a defender who was formerly with both Bolton Wanderers and Wycombe Wanderers, midfielder Manny Achuba and Dernell Wynter, a striker, have all signed Southern League forms for the Citizens to provide back-up to a squad that has been wracked by injury, that includes five defenders currently out of action.
In addition, the Citizens have added Spanish full-back Carlos Velasco to their squad.
He began his career in the fifth tier in Spain with CDA Navalcamero and has recently been with another Isthmian Premier outfit, Enfield Town.
Welwyn Garden City have also re-signed Romanian-born midfielder Denis Bene, who was with the club for a spell last season.
Currently living and working in the Welwyn/Hatfield area, he has a football background from both Spain and Germany.
He left Romania as a small child, growing up in Valencia, Spain, where he played his early football, including a spell in the academy at La Liga side Levante.
The 23-year-old moved to live and work in Germany with his family and had trials with FC Kaiserlautern, once of the Bundesliga, but now in Germany’s third tier, but a bad ACL injury hampered his progress.
He last played just over a year ago for SSC Tubingen, who play in the fifth tier of non-League football in Germany.
