And Jamie McClurg and Carl Withers` men edged a best-of-five goals encounter and moved above Truro City, who play today, and into second spot, 7 points behind leaders Weston-super-Mare with a game in hand.

After very little in the way of chances for the majority of the opening period, Bracknell struck right on the stroke of half-time when a fine ball from Ashley Lodge sent Jordan Esprit through to beat Met `keeper Liam Beach.

On the hour-mark, the hosts almost doubled their advantage, but Darryl Sanders` 25-yard effort was brilliantly saved by Beach.

Seven minutes later, however, the visitors were back on level terms when skipper Luke Robertson headed past Michael Eacott.

Ten minutes later, Bracknell restored their lead when Gary Abisogun set up Kamaron English to fire home.

The Met battled back once again though and it looked as though they were going to earn a point when Robertson headed them level in the 88th minute – his second of the game.

But as stoppage time ticked in, Sanders found Joe Grant, who smashed the ball past Beach, much to the joy of the majority in the 286 crowd.

There was still time for the Met’s Robertson to find himself first in the showers after a second yellow card.

Defeat leaves Gavin Macpherson’s side 7 points adrift of the top five with 15 points left to play for.
