But although the Wolves are set to finish bottom of the table – their 3-point deduction proving crucial now – they at least finished their home games at Theobalds Lane with a comprehensive 4-1 win against third-bottom Highworth Town.

Enock Ekongo bagged a first half brace in the 24th and 44th minutes, with Oliver Rejek sandwiching a reply for the Worthians in the 43rd minute.

Zenon Stylianides made it 3-1 to the hosts on 68 minutes and Ernold Haxhiu made the points secure 12 minutes from time.

After Saturday’s final game of the regular season at home to Biggleswade FC, Highworth face a relegation/promotion play-off fixture against a Step 5 league runner-up on Saturday, April 29th.
