The experienced Curtis Angell will be staying at Bulpit Lane for the 2023/24 season.

The popular defender will add experience, leadership and consistency to manager Danny Robinson’s side

A member of the well-known Angell footballing family which includes former Everton and Portsmouth striker Brett, now managing New Zealand outfit Hawke`s Bay, Curtis is a defender who was in his second spell with then-Southern Division One South club Thatcham Town, having re-joined in 2017, before switching to Hungerford in May 2020.

Born in Lisbon, he joined the Brackley academy shortly after his family moved to Bicester, having been on Sporting Lisbon’s books as a youngster.

He joined the Oxford United academy as a scholar and at 16 he became the club's third-youngest player when he made his U's debut in August 2018 in a 2-0 Carabao Cup victory over Coventry City,

He signed a professional contract with the U's in 2018, going out on loan to AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Biggleswade Town before joining Brackley in December 2021.

He made 8 appearances in his first season for the Saints as they went on to finish second in the National League North.

Also penning a new deal to remain with the Crusaders is central defender Matt Partridge, who missed last season with an ACL injury.

The strong versatile player will give manager Danny Robinson many options in defence and midfield.

The 29-year-old re-joined Hungerford in May 2020 from then-Southern League Division One South club Thatcham Town, where he had been since September 2019 after arriving from Southern Premier South outfit Gosport Borough.

He signed for Boro in May 2019 from Salisbury.

Having started his career at Reading, he signed professional terms in 2012.

He went on to play in the Football League for Dagenham & Redbridge between 2014 and 2016 and later for Newport County, along with spells at Basingstoke Town and Hungerford.
