New Keeper For Rovers

Pitching In Southern League Division One South club Paulton Rovers have signed highly rated goalkeeper Sam Jepson from Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Corsham Town.

The 28-year-old had moved to Corsham from Rovers` league rivals Melksham Town, where he had been since September 2021 and helped the side to reach the Isuzu FA Vase Semi-Final, where they eventually lost to Ascot United on penalties.

He is a member of the British Army based at the local barracks in Warminster.

He signed for Toolstation Western League Division One side Warminster Town in July after moving to the area.

He was previously with Northern Counties East League sides Harworth Colliery and Retford United and also played in the Northern Premier League with the sadly now defunct Shaw Lane AFC and home-town club Worksop Town as well Central Midlands Leaguers SJR Worksop.

Managers Craig Loxton and John Durbin told the club’s social media: “Sam is a keeper we’ve been aware of for some time and we are delighted to have him committed to us.

“He brings great experience to the side, having played at both Step 3 and Step 4 level when living up north as well as having played for Melksham Town in the Southern League.

“His heroics for Corsham Town in their FA Vase run last season proved he is a top keeper.

“He is commanding and a great shot-stopper and we look forward to working with him next season”.
