Key Players Commit to Halesowen

Paul Smith, manager of Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central newcomers Halesowen Town, has agreed terms with two more of last season’s squad.

Richard Gregory and Kieran Morris both played a major part in the Yeltz’s success in winning the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands play-off final against Spalding United.

The experienced 34-year-old Gregory pushed his goal tally for Halesowen to 46 in 74 matches last season and has committed himself to the Yeltz for the 2023/24 season.

Gregory signed for Halesowen in June 2020.

He joined Southern Premier Central side Bromsgrove Sporting in October 2017 and scored plenty of goals for the Rouslers, netting 33 in 2018/19.

He became a cult hero amongst the Sporting faithful, a deadly striker who has had spells at Leamington, Stratford Town, Rugby Town and Stafford Rangers.

With 90 appearances and 7 goals, Morris has also committed himself to the club for the 2023/24 season.

The 27-year-old centre-back re-joined the Yeltz in March 2022.

He began his career at Stourbridge before making a move into the Football League with Brentford.

He previously represented Maidenhead United, Worcester City, Leamington and Stafford Rangers where he won the managers` player of the year award in 2017.

He moved to Hednesford Town in June 2019 Halesowen and then switched to league rivals Coalville Town in early January 2020 and to another rival, Stourbridge, just a month later.
