Dolan Becomes Latest to Commit to Mickleover

Rhys Dolan is the latest of last season’s successful Mickleover squad to re-sign for the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club for the forthcoming season.

The former Barnsley junior is equally at home in midfield or as an attacking full back.

A popular member of the squad since his arrival in October 2021, he scored 5 goals too last season.

The 25-year-old joins Mickleover from then-United Counties League Premier Division North side Anstey Nomads, for whom he joined in August 2021.

He had joined Belper Town in September 2020 from Long Eaton United.

He developed into an effective attacking player during his time with the Nailers fellow Derbyshire outfit, where his performances and regular goalscoring brought him to the attention of several clubs higher in the non-League Pyramid.

He had an earlier spell at Ilkeston Town from whom he joined Barnsley and he has also been at Selston and Newark.

Mickleover manager John McGrath said: “Rhys fits the bill as to what we want in our full-backs. He’s an attacking presence who has often during the season been our outlet for a lot of our attacking play. I am delighted to get him re-signed again for the new season ahead”.
