Ford Adds Trio to Robins Squad

Mike Ford, manager of Pitching In Southern League Division One South club Evesham United, has added three more new players to his squad for 2023/24.

Will Owens

Will Owens

Will Owens has joined the Robins on a permanent basis following his release by League One side Oxford United.

The 19-year-old joined Evesham on `work experience` from Oxford in February and played 13 times, plus 2 substitute appearances, and bagged 2 goals.

He gained plenty of experience at Step 2 and Step 3 level as well, with similar `work experience` spells at Banbury United, North Leigh and Bedford Town.

Amer Awadh is an attacking midfielder who joins the Robins from Southern Division One Central side North Leigh, for whom he turned out on 70 occasions, scoring 6 goals.

The 26-year-old had been with the Millers since in November 2021 after arriving from Stratford Town.

He had signed for the Bards in late September 2021 from league rivals Nuneaton Borough.

He had moved to Boro in June 2021 from another league rival, Banbury United, where he had been since February 2018.

He came through the youth system at Oxford City, playing primarily for the Nomads sides though he progressed to make a few first team appearances.

He had been playing for Fanja SC in Oman prior to joining Banbury.

Meanwhile, experienced goalkeeper Alex Harris has also committed to the Robins for the 2023/24 season.

The 31-year-old re-joins the Robins from Southern Division One Central side Cirencester Town.

He moved to the Centrurians in May 2020 from Merthyr Town.

He had been with the Martyrs since June 2019 after joining from Southern Division One South side Cinderford Town.

He had re-joined the Foresters in May 2018 from Evesham.

He had a successful first spell at Cinderford where he was an integral part of the club`s title-winning side, also winning the club`s player of the year and setting a Southern League record for the number of clean sheets.

He left to play at Vanarama National League and Southern League Premier level, representing both Gloucester City and Hereford FC, finishing 2017/18 with then-Midland League side Westfields after being released from Gloucester.
