Leese Makes First Signing as Poppies Boss

Andy Leese, the new manager of Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central new boys Kettering Town, has made his first signing ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

The former Enfield Town boss has signed vastly experienced defender Kelvin Langmead from the Poppies former Vanarama National League North rivals Banbury United.

The 38-year-old had moved to the Puritans in August 2020 from National League North neighbours Brackley Town.

He had signed for Brackley in June 2019 from then-National League side Harrogate Town and helped them into the play-offs.

He had signed for Harrogate the previous summer after his departure from Nuneaton Borough.

The majority of his career appearances came in the Football League for Shrewsbury Town, for whom he appeared over 200 times between 2004 and 2010.

He also wore the colours of Preston North End, Peterborough United, Northampton Town and Ebbsfleet United.
