Portman came through the Glassboys youth system and was handed his first team debut by Mark Yates before moving to Hednesford Town where he impressed last season, despite the Pitmen's relegation.
The centre-back made a swift return to Hednesford in December 2022, having only left at the start of the previous month.
The 19-year-old had a short spell with league rivals Bromsgrove Sporting having originally signed for the Pitmen in the summer of 2021 from the Glassboys..
The left-footed defender attracted a lot of attention from Football League clubs.
