Leese Adds Two More to Poppies Squad

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club Kettering Town have added two more players to their squad ahead of the big kick-off.

Defender or midfielder Luca Purse moves to Latimer Park having been on United Counties League Premier Division South side Cogenhoe United’s books last term.

The 21-year-old had been with the Cooks since the early part of 2022/23 after signing from Barton Rovers, where he had been since November 2021 after moving from Biggleswade Town.

The son of former Birmingham City and Cardiff City centre-back Darren Purse, he joined the Waders in the summer from AFC Rushden & Diamonds, where he came through the academy run, at the time, by his father.

He also spent time on loan in the UCL with Bugbrooke St Michaels.

The 25-year-old had been with the Canaries since August 2022 on dual registration with United Counties League Premier Division North outfit Eastwood CFC.

He had signed for Eastwood the previous season from Northern Premier League Premier Division side Ilkeston Town, where he had been since August 2021 after arriving from then-rivals Belper Town.

He had signed for the Nailers in February 2020 from Basford United where he had been since the summer of 2019 after a trial.

He was a member of Derby County's youth system and played in their under-18 squad in 2016.

He then moved to Barnsley where he played 15 times for their under-23 team and saw first-team action in 2017.

He was playing for Oregan State Universal in America before coming back to England.
