Four New Crows

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club Royston Town have made four additions to their squad.

Samson Esan joins the Crows from Vanarama National League South side Maidenhead United.

The 24-year-old, who can play in the number 10 role, out wide or as a central striker, joined Maidenhead in February 2022 from Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Potters Bar Town but spent the rest of the 2021/22 season back on loan at the Scholars.

He made his Maidenhead debut back in September 2022 when he started in the 1-0 win over Woking.

He was Potters Bar’s top scorer in the 2021/22 season with 12 goals from 27 appearances, and prior to playing at Potters Bar, he turned out for Enfield Town and was a youngster at Norwich City.

He was also on loan at National League South side Chelmsford City from November 2022 until December 2022.

Well-travelled winger Rod Orlando-Young has moved to Garden Walk after re-locating to the area.

The 28-year-old had been with Royston’s new league rivals Long Eaton United since August 2022 after arriving from Frickley Athletic.

He had joined the Blues in January 2022 from Grantham Town where he had been since late October 2021 having re-joined Radcliffe in May 2021 from Northern Premier League Premier Division rivals Gainsborough Trinity.

He had re-signed for Ilkeston Town in early September 2019 following a brief spell with Bradford Park Avenue and then ended the truncated 2019/20 season with Buxton.

He had joined Avenue earlier in the summer of 2019 from Gainsborough, who he had only been with since May 2019 from Ilkeston, with whom he won the Midland League title in 2018/19.

He started his career with Exeter City before joining Norwich City in the summer of 2013.

He had a loan spell with Bishop`s Stortford whilst with the Canaries and then joined Welling United upon his release from Carrow Road in July 2014.

Moves to Ware, Sheffield FC, Newcastle Town and Ilkeston followed.

Wide player Cain Keller joins the Crows from Division One Central side Kings Langley.

The 19-year-old moved to Kings in the summer of 2022 from Biggleswade Town.

He had joined the Waders in February 2022 from Hendon, where he had been since November 2021.

He moved to Silver Jubilee Park after spending time in the academy at Stevenage, where he progressed to feature for the under-18 and under-23 sides.

And Greg Sandiford has joined on loan from League One side Cambridge United.

An athletic right-back who is also versatile and has the ability to play a number of positions, progressed through Cambridge’s academy.

The 18-year-old had a very positive second half of the season which included joining Southern Division One Central outfit Biggleswade Town on loan, where he established himself in the team.

He has recently signed his first professional contract.
