John McGrath’s side beat Alvechurch 4-2 at the Don Amott Arena, coming back from being a 26th minute Ethan Patterson goal down to win.

They were level in the 36th minute through Ryan Wilson.

And Sports went ahead 5 minutes after the break through Marcus Barnes and the vastly experienced Stuart Beavon added a third in the 80th minute.

Oli Greaves made it 4-1 with just 2 minutes of normal time remaining, but McGrath will no doubt be disappointed to then concede a second goal 5 minutes into stoppage time from Kai George.

Stamford AFC dropped two points in a 1-1 draw at Garden Walk against Royston Town, for whom this was a first point of the new campaign to date.

It was goalless at the break, and then the visitors broke the deadlock on 68 minutes through Rob Morgan.

It looked as though the Daniels would retain their 100% start – until Olu Akintunde popped up to equalise 5 minutes from time.

Still unbeaten are Halesowen Town, who were promoted with Stamford from the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands.

However, the terrific crowd of 1, 055 at The Grove saw the Yeltz draw 0-0 with Leamington.

Losing for the first time in 2023/24 were Hitchin Town and Stourbridge.

The Canaries had won their opening two matches but became Needham Market’s first `victims` by winning 2-0 at Bloomfields.

Callum Page after 24 minutes and Reece Harris 13 minutes later were the Marketmen on target.

The Glassboys were beaten 2-0 at the Arden Garages Stadium by Stratford Town in front of a crowd of 764.

But the Bards left it late, with Lewis Ludford-Ison breaking the deadlock with 12 minutes to go and then Charlie Williams making sure with a second 2 minutes into time added on at the end of the game.

Nuneaton Borough are off the mark with a 2-1 win over a Long Eaton United side who are yet to record a point since being promoted from the NPL Division One Midlands.

A crowd of 423 at The FCS Stadium saw Alex Lafleur put Boro one-up after 37 minutes.

Kameron Campbell equalised 10 minutes after half-time, but Matt Stenson grabbed what turned out to be the winner for Boro on the hour-mark.

Coalville Town moved into the top five of the fledgling table after a 4-1 win at the Victoria Ground against Bromsgrove Sporting.

In front of 562, Eliot Putman gave the visitors the lead from the penalty spot right on half-time after a foul by Kane Auld on Ash Chambers.

And it was 2-0 in the 58th minute when Putman’s corner was pushed into his own net by Sporting’s keeper Olly Taylor.

Prince Henry reduced the deficit on 67 minutes, only for Tim Berridge to bag a brace in the 78th and 88th minutes.

And it got worse for the Rouslers as in the first minute of stoppage time, Billy Shaw was sent-off for a reckless challenge on Joe Doyle-Charles.

Berkhamsted and Leiston shared the spoils in the evening’s other game at Broadwater in a 0-0 draw.
