The visitors, who won promotion as champions of the Isthmian League South Central, have only picked up one point to date after an encouraging 2-2 draw at Tiverton Town on the opening day.

However, last weekend they were beaten 3-1 at home by Hanwell Town and, despite taking an early 5th minute lead through striker George Reed, they were victims of a powerful second half performance from Pat Suraci and Joe Lea’s team.

Gosport were level in the 58th minute when Dan Wooden fired home a Harry Kavanagh cross.

Then on 65 minutes, Charlie Wassmer created space for Harvey Rew, who smashed his volley in the top corner to give Boro the lead.

It was 3-1 in the 2nd minute of stoppage time when the lively Kavanagh finished off a well-worked move.

And there was still time for a fourth just 2 minutes later when Rew went through on his own to beat the `Stoke keeper.

Not far away at the Snows Stadium, there was a terrific crowd of 1,365 to see AFC Totton make if two wins from their three matches after a 1-0 win against previously unbeaten Poole Town.

The Stags had a great chance to take the lead after 20 minutes when they were awarded a penalty.

But the normally reliable Scott Rendell saw his spot-kick saved low down to his right by Poole `keeper Luke Cairney.

The deadlock was finally broken after 67 minutes whem Matty Burrows cut the ball back for Jake Scrimshaw to fire home from 12 yards.

The visitors were reduced to ten-men in the 86th minute when Wes Fogden receiving a second yellow card.

And an often feisty encounter saw Poole coach Jody Rivers shown a straight red card.
