After a goalless opening 45 minutes, it was Rovers who broke the deadlock just after the hour-mark when Tavistock’s Ed Harrison inadvertently put the ball past his own keeper.

And then on 76 minutes, Tavistock, who lost at newcomers Bemerton Heath Harlequins on the opening day, conceded a second from Ryan Guppy.

Yate Town, relegated from the Premier Division South, suffered a second successive defeat, this time at the South West Interiors Stadium against newcomers Malvern Town, who had drawn their opener at home to Bideford AFC.

The visitors raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Joe Davies after just 4 minutes, Harry Clark on 35 minutes and Jordan Annear just before the break.

An `interesting` second half saw Malvern reduced to ten-men after 68 minutes when Curtis Smith was sent-off. for blocking the ball on the line with his hand but George Box saw his spot-kick well saved by Kieron Blackburn.

Four minutes later, Yate were back in the game with a 25-yard effort from Dylan Lewis.

Malvern went down to nine-men in the 77th minute when Lewis Platt was shown a second yellow card.

Sam Pashen reduced the deficit in the 2nd minute of stoppage time but the Worcestershire side held on.

Bishops Cleeve won for the first time, running out 3-1 victors at Plain Ham against Larkhall Athletic.

Ethan Dunbar gave the Mitres a 10th minute lead that Toby Holland eventually added to on the hour-mark.

Jay Malshanskyj made it 3-0 with 5 minutes remaining, with Alex Lambert netting a consolation for the Larks seconds later.
