Experienced Striker Loaned to Hungerford

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Hungerford Town have signed striker Dave Tarpey on a two-month loan deal from Isthmian League South Central side Leatherhead.

The vastly experienced 34-year-old joined Leatherhead in May 2022 having helped Bracknell Town to win the Isthmian South Central in 2021/22.

He had signed for then-League Two outfit Barnet from Vanarama National League rivals Maidenhead United ahead of the 2017/18 season for an undisclosed fee and then signed for another rival, Woking, where he had a loan spell in 2018/19, in June 2019.

He began his career at Henley Town before joining Basingstoke Town two years later.

His next club would be Hampton & Richmond Borough before he was sent out on loan twice to Walton & Hersham and Chertsey Town respectively.

Farnborough was his move in 2012 before returning to Hampton. However, it was Maidenhead where he really made a name for himself after bagging 95 goals in 141 appearances, 45 of them coming in their National League South title-winning season of 2016/17.

His prolific form at York Road awarded him with a move to the Football League but it didn’t get off to the best of starts as he damaged his ACL in September 2017 which meant he had to watch the rest of the season from the sidelines.
