Big Month Ahead For Gosport Borough

Young managerial duo relishing the challenge that lies ahead

August was a pretty good month for Gosport Borough with five wins and a draw from their six League games.

It leaves them sitting in second place in the early Pitching In Southern League Premier South table but joint Head Coaches, Pat Suraci and Joe Lea, know that their credentials will be seriously tested throughout September.

Boro host Hungerford Town on Saturday before away trips to Poole Town (September 12th) and Merthyr Town (September 23rd) and further home encounters with AFC Totton, Dorchester Town and Cribbs in the Emirates FA Cup second round qualifying.

“This month represents a real challenge for us,” admitted Suraci. “There are some tough fixtures throughout.

“We’ve been pleased with our performances overall, but we know that there are a lot of things that we need to be better at.”

Lea added: “We’ll need to show the same attitude and mentality in September that we delivered during the course of August.

“It’s been a positive start for us and hopefully this will continue.”

The young managerial duo took over at the helm of the Hampshire club during the summer having guided Petersfield Town to promotion last term.
