There has been a managerial departure in the Pitching In Southern League Division One South with John Rendell mutually agreeing to part ways with Yate Town.
Following their relegation at the end of last season, the club has gone on to lose three of their opening four League games this term as well as exiting the Emirates FA Cup and falling at the first hurdle in the Isuzu FA Trophy at the weekend with a home defeat at the hands of Tavistock.
“The decision is based on the poor run of performances and results that the team has managed since the beginning of the season,” said Yate Town Chairman, Mark Thorne. “The start to this season, when coupled with the team’s relegation from the Southern League Premier South last season, has been a disappointment to all at this football club.
“As such the Board felt compelled to act after Saturday’s performance and result.
“We are disappointed for John, who is a local Yate man, and has worked tirelessly on behalf of the club during his time with us, but sadly it just wasn’t to be.
“We thank John and wish him well in his future.”
Darren Mullings will take temporary charge whilst a permanent replacement is found. His first game at the helm will be at home against Westbury United on Saturday.
