PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SOUTH & CENTRAL | WEEKEND REVIEW

Reduced League programme due to the Isuzu FA Trophy

There was very little action in the Pitching In Southern League Division One South and Central due to it being Isuzu FA Trophy weekend.

Division One South had just one game as Willand Rovers went four points clear at the top of the table after beating Evesham United by three goals to one.

Owen Howe set them on their way with an early goal before Douglas Camilo doubled their lead early in the second half. Although Levi Steele pulled a goal back on the hour, Charlie Wright made the points safe with a late third goal for the home side.

There were two games in Division One Central and they both ended with honours even.

In a dramatic encounter at Ware, the home side played out a 4-4 draw with Thame United, who edged in front through Ezra Anthonio-Forde and then went two goals up as Eitel Moumi Goueth fired home.

A goal from Theophilus Ofori brought the hosts back into it in first half stoppage time but Jayden Carbon restored Thame’s two-goal advantage just three minutes after the restart. Liam Dulson then made it 3-3 on 82 minutes but there was still time for more drama as Ben Kakembo gave the visitors the lead once more with two minutes to go only for Dulson to weigh in with his second eight minutes into stoppage time.

At Welwyn Garden City, they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Cirencester Town for whom Charlie McCrae opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark. Bradley Wadkins got the equaliser on 58 minutes and that is how it remained. The point moved Cirencester up to fourth in the table.
