NUNEATON BOROUGH | KEEPING IT CLEAN

Positive mindset helps Boro to first clean sheet of season

There was a first clean sheet of the season for Nuneaton Borough as they picked up an important three points from their 1-0 victory over Royston Town in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central.

Having made the play-off final at the end of last season, it’s been a tough start to the new campaign for Boro as injuries have contributed to five defeats from their opening nine League games.

But Head Coach, Andy Danylyszyn, is full of praise for the work-rate and mindset of his players.

“Having a ten-day break prior to Saturday’s game certainly helped us,” he admitted to his club’s website. “It allowed us to get some of the injured lads fit, work on a few things on the training pitch and return to action refreshed.

“The players took ownership and carried out our game plan well; it was a real team performance out there to get the three points and keep our first clean sheet.

“It’s been a frustrating start to the season, but the attitude of the players has been spot-on. They’re giving their all in training and have been relentless in the mindset.

“There is plenty of belief amongst the group and we remain positive as we go forward.”

Boro have a rearranged League game at Stratford Town to look forward to on Saturday as they look to build upon their latest win.
