HAYES & YEADING UNITED | FEELING FRESH

New signings provide a boost

There were big changes amongst the playing staff at Hayes & Yeading United ahead of last weekend’s Pitching In Southern League Premier South game at Hungerford Town.

Four new signings started with another on the bench as they played out a dramatic 3-3 draw before securing a commanding 3-0 triumph over local rivals, Harrow Borough on Tuesday evening.

Amongst the goals has been Ronan Silva, who previously played for Farnborough, and Norman Wabo, who came in from Weymouth, whilst fellow new-boys, Johnny Allotey, a capture from Potters Bar Town, Michael Fernandes, formerly of Hungerford Town, and the on-loan Connor Stevens have all made a good early impression.

“Each of the new lads have slotted in well and made an impact in our last two games,” said manager, Ritchie Hanlon. “We’re still getting them properly up to speed, of course, but the initial signs are ver encouraging and their arrival has both strengthened us and freshened things up.

“At Hungerford we showed plenty of character and resolve, whilst on Tuesday it was an all-round pleasing performance with a lot of good aspects.

“We’ve set some good standards which we now need to build upon and hopefully there is plenty more to come from us.”

Hanlon’s new-look side host Beaconsfield Town on Saturday. They also go into the game on the back of a 3-0 win having secured an impressive away win at Bracknell Town during the week.
