Sitting pretty at the top of the Pitching In Southern League Division One South are Willand Rovers who had an Owen Howe brace to thank for their hard-earned 2-1 victory over Cribbs, for whom Jacob Brown pulled a goal back just after the hour-mark.
Second placed Bemerton Heath Harlequins won by the same scoreline as they had two goals from Stuart Green to cancel out Alex Lambert’s opener from hosts, Larkhall Athletic.
2-1 was a popular score as Mousehole extended their unbeaten League start by the same winning margin at Yate Town. It was the home side who went in front through Will Sage before Hayden Turner levelled matters on 58 minutes and Jack Bray-Evans notched what proved to be the winner just three minutes later.
There was a first defeat for Melksham Town as they slipped to a 3-1 reverse at a Matt Buchan-inspired Bideford. The recently-returned front-man grabbed a hat-trick to cancel out Ben Brooks’ opener for the visitors.
Wimborne Town were held to a goalless draw at Evesham United and it was the same scoreline at Tavistock for their home encounter with Westbury United.
Exmouth Town got their first win of the season in fine style at Bishops Cleeve courtesy of a 4-1 triumph as Michael Landricombe, Ben Steer, Ethan Slater and Ace High all found the net before Toby Holland scored a consolation for the hosts.
A late strike from Evander Grubb gave Bristol Manor Farm an away win at Bashley, whilst Jack Watts twice equalised for Malvern Town (pictured) as they shared the spoils at home to Paulton Rovers, for whom David O’Hare opened the scoring on six minutes and Toby Stephens put them back in front as half-time approached.
