Biggleswade Town are still flying the flag for the Pitching In Southern League Division One in the Emirates FA Cup as their 3-1 victory over Barton Rovers on Saturday gave them a place in the fourth round qualifying.
The Division One Central club now face a trip to unbeaten Vanarama National League outfit, Solihull Moors on October 14th.
“It’s a great draw for us,” said Waders’ manager, Danny Payne. “It will be a good day out for us at a National League side who have started the season well, but we’ll go there and look to enjoy the occasion and play to the best of our abilities.
“We’ll go there with a plan; we have no game this weekend, so we’ve got plenty of time to prepare properly.
“We’re not going to go there and just roll over, we want to give ourselves the best possible opportunity to get through.
“Earlier in the competition we went to Bishops Stortford who are a couple of steps above us and won, this is the FA Cup and anything can happen.”
Their exploits in the Cup mean that they have only played four League games so far this term, which have yielded two wins, a draw and a loss and Payne admits that they are still trying to find their rhythm.
“It’s been a bit stop-start so far in the League,” he admitted. “We’ve struggled to get any momentum and we’re falling behind in terms of games played, but we’ll be ready to give it our full attention and we’ll also have a few of the lads with longer term injuries available again by then.”
