SALISBURY | LATE REWARDS

Another late winner takes Salisbury to top spot

A goal deep into stoppage time from Tom Leggett sent Salisbury to the top of the Pitching In Southern League Premier South table as they came home from Harrow Borough with a 3-2 win on Saturday.

It is the first time that the Whites have topped this table since 2011 and is just reward for a solid start to the campaign which has seen Brian Dutton’s side lose just once in 14 League outings.

“We’re making a habit of scoring late goals,” assistant manager, Callum Hart told his club’s media. “We could have made life a bit easier for ourselves, but overall we deserved the victory.

“Credit to Harrow because they kept battling to level the scores with just over five minutes to go, however, our never-say-die attitude, which has served us well this season, came to the fore once more.

“It was a good afternoon’s work for us; we scored three good goals, the fans were behind us throughout and the win took us top of the table.”

Salisbury return to home action at the weekend as they play host to Hayes & Yeading United and after taking 12 years to reach the summit, they will be hoping to stay there!
