There was only one game in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South on Tuesday evening and it saw Swindon Supermarine taste victory for the first time this season as two goals from David Sims-Burgess, who is on loan from Taunton Town, gave them a 2-1 triumph over high-flying Chesham United, who suffered only their second loss.
Over in Premier Central, a Brandon Njoku goal with just under 20 minutes to go gave St. Ives Town only their second away win of the season as they came home from Coalville Town victorious.
Nuneaton Borough’s good form continued as they inflicted Halesowen Town’s second home defeat in a row courtesy of a 2-1 triumph. Owen Oseni notched an early goal for Borough before Richard Gregory levelled matters as half-time approached. It was Leroy Lita who bagged what proved to be the winner midway through the second period.
There was also a 2-1 success for Leamington as they held off the challenge of Kettering Town. Callum Stewart and the experienced Tyrone Barnett put the Brakes into the driving seat with first half goals before Sam Bennett pulled one back for the visitors but it wasn’t enough as his side remain in the lower reaches of the table.
Back up to second place is Needham Market after they beat Berkhamsted 3-0. Dylan Williams set them on their way on the half-hour before late goals from Keiran Morphew and Seth Carroll-Chambers added gloss to the scoreline. The result leaves Berkhamsted one place off the bottom of the table.
