ISUZU FA TROPHY SECOND ROUND | REVIEW

Nine Member Clubs beat higher level opponents

There was Isuzu FA Trophy second round action for some of our Member Clubs.

It’s congratulations to Frome Town of Division One South (Step 4) who beat Worthing from the Vanarama National League South (Step 2) 3-2 on penalties after it finished 2-2 after 90 minutes with their opponents grabbing a stoppage time equaliser.

Also beating opponents from a higher level were AFC Totton who saw goals from Jordan Chiedozie and Joe Turner overcome the challenge of Havant & Waterlooville 2-1.

Meanwhile Nuneaton Borough continued their impressive recent form by winning 4-2 at Banbury United of the Vanarama National League North, Coalville Town beat opponents from the same division as they eventually prospered 7-6 on penalties against Boston United.

There was a solid 2-0 success for Hungerford Town against Truro City and Hendon did the same in their encounter with Eastbourne Borough, whilst Redditch United removed Rushall Olympic from the competition with a 2-1 triumph as Stourbridge won by the same scoreline against King’s Lynn Town as Brendon Daniels and Alex Prosser got the goals in the second half.

Premier Central leaders, Mickleover, showed their credentials as they won 3-1 at Spennymoor Town with a brace from Oli Greaves and a further strike from Andrew Dales seeing them come from behind to win.

St. Ives Town suffered a narrow defeat at Aveley, whilst a Beaconsfield Town went down to a single-goal defeat at Vanarama National League South high-flyers, Bath City.

Bracknell Town were well beaten at home to Horsham, who inflicted a 3-0 defeat, whilst Basingstoke Town suffered penalty shoot-out agony at Chippenham Town.
