AFC SUDBURY | JUMPING FOR JOY

Manager purrs as The Suds turn on the style

As far as away days go, they don’t come much better than AFC Sudbury’s trip to Coalville Town on Tuesday evening.

The Suds chalked up a commanding 3-0 victory to make it two away wins in a row and move them out of the bottom four of the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central table.

“It was an exceptional performance,” purred manager, Marc Abbott. “The players were right at it from the moment they stepped on the team coach to the moment they stepped off in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

“They jumped all over Coalville when they needed to, were clinical at key moments and fully deserved such a convincing win.

“We’re a developing team and this was a big result for us. We scored some great goals, but just as importantly, we were delighted to keep a clean sheet.

“It really was a pleasure to watch and full credit to the players who went to what is a tough place and got the job done.”

The victory was their fourth of the season and second in a row on the road after beating Long Eaton United 6-1.

On Saturday they return to home soil with the visit of Stourbridge, who also chalked up a 3-0 win on Tuesday evening.
