Pitching In Southern League Premier Central outfit, Kettering Town, have appointed Jim Le Masurier as permanent manager following a successful interim period.
The Poppies have found the early going tough having suffered relegation at the end of last season and have five wins from their opening 18 League games to sit six places off the bottom of the table.
Le Masurier has been promoted from within having joined previous manager Andy Leese’s coaching staff earlier in the season.
“It’s been evident ever since I first arrived that there are some great people at this club,” Le Masurier insisted. “They have made my return here extremely effortless; it was Andy Leese who bought me back and I am gutted that his reign ended so soon as I have a great level of respect for him.
“But I was honoured to be asked to look after the team initially on a caretaker basis and the players, fans and staff have been nothing short of amazing with the level of support shown and I am now looking to build upon this now that I have been handed the job permanently.
“My staff and I will endeavour to represent the club with professionalism, desire and drive in order to give everyone a club to be proud of and help push us all in the right direction.
“The players will be fully focussed on getting things right and improving our current League standing to repay the commitment and patience that the fans have shown so far this season.”
Le Masurier will be assisted by Kelvin Langmead, who will also continue in his playing role, whilst Frankie Fry will be on the coaching staff along with Shaun Allen, who returns as goalkeeping coach.
They face their first game in permanent charge on Tuesday evening with the visit of Nuneaton Borough.
