REDDITCH UNITED | KING COMMITS

Spirits high at The Reds

Redditch United striker, Danny King, has ended speculation about his future by signing a contract at the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central club until the end of the season.

It came at the end of a positive week for The Reds and King as he returned to the scoresheet in the 2-0 victory over Stratford Town last Monday as well as assisting Alex Cameron for the opening goal before playing his part with another assist for Cameron during Saturday’s 3-1 triumph over Royston Town.

The results have moved the club back into the top five as we enter the month of December.

“We’ve done well over the last two games,” King told his club’s media. “We’re still not at our best, but it’s nice to know that we don’t have to be at our best to pick up wins this season, something that we struggled with last year.

“I’ve been happy with my own performances; I’ve had a bit of a drought in terms of goals and people looking in from the outside may think that if I’ve not been scoring, I’ve not been performing well, but that’s not the case.

“Spirits are high throughout the club and there’s a really positive mindset. There have been a couple of clubs who have expressed an interest in me recently, but I love it here; we’ve got a really close-knit group and plenty to look forward to.

“That’s why I have decided to commit myself to the club for the rest of the season.”

Redditch United turn their attention to Isuzu FA Trophy matters on Saturday when they head to Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier leaders, Radcliffe, in the third round.
