ISUZU FA TROPHY FOURTH ROUND | WEEKEND REVIEW

Memorable day for our two remaining clubs

There was joy for our two remaining clubs in the Isuzu FA Trophy as Hendon went to Vanarama National League outfit, Oldham Athletic, and won 2-1, whilst Coalville Town were victorious on penalties in their away tie at Vanarama National League South Bath City.

At Boundary Park, Joe White put Hendon into dreamland with the opening goal on 67 minutes only for the home side, who were once members of the FA Premier League, to level matters with a penalty in the second minute of stoppage time.

But there was plenty of drama still to come as Niko Muir turned the ball home with 96 minutes on the clock to complete an historic victory for his side.

Over at Twerton Park, there was more drama as both sides missed first half penalties as the tie ended goalless and so it went to a penalty shoot-out.

It was Ashley Chambers who stayed cool to net the all-important spot-kick in a 4-3 victory for the Premier Central side who join Premier South Hendon in the last 16 for Monday afternoon’s draw.

We’ll have reaction from both camps in the days ahead.
