ISUZU FA TROPHY FIFTH ROUND | PREVIEW

Two Member Clubs remain

Two of our clubs are set to be in Isuzu FA Trophy fifth round action on Tuesday evening as Pitching In Southern League Premier Central club, Coalville Town, head to Vanarama National League North outfit, Bishop’s Stortford, whilst Hendon of the Pitching In Southern League Premier South go to Vanarama National League, Wealdstone.

For Coalville, they head south with a new manager at the helm after Ian King was appointed to replace Adam Stevens.

King left his role at neighbours and League rivals, Barwell, to take up the position.

“It's great to have Ian on board in what is a new chapter for the club,” said Ravens’ Chairman, Glyn Rennocks. “Despite not advertising the vacancy, we were inundated with applicants from all levels of the non-League pyramid but we think Ian is the perfect fit for us.

“He has done a great job down the road at Barwell and now knows the level well. His passion and enthusiasm to take over at Coalville Town shone through during his interview, as well as his tactical insight and opposition analysis.

“It's been a tough week departing with a manager who was with us for so long, but all we can do now is look forward and give Ian our backing from the stands.

“We have 15 League games left to try and improve on our current position of 13th before re building in the summer.”

King and his assistant, former Coventry City defender, Brian Borrows, will join player-coach, Steve Towers, in the dug-out for the Isuzu FA Trophy tie at the Vanarama National League North strugglers where an away trip to Macclesfield awaits the winners in the quarter-final.

Meanwhile, over at Hendon, manager, Lee Allinson, is battling a combination of injury and suspension as his side look to claim another scalp from Step 1.

“It’s going to be a great occasion for the club, I just wish we were going there with a full squad,” Allinson said. “If ever we needed our supporters to get behind us, it’s tonight.

“We need every single fan there to cheer us on. This is a bigger game than Oldham now; that was a great day, but it’s gone and this tie is massive for the club as we look to progress further in the competition.

“We’ll go there and give it our best shot and hopefully do the club proud.”

A home tie against Solihull Moors awaits the winners of this one.

We send our best wishes to both of our Member Clubs and congratulate them on the progress that they have made.
