Familiar Faces Return to Sharpenhoe Road

Two re-join Rovers.

Southern League Division One Central club Barton Rovers have signed a couple of familiar faces in Jermaine Hall and Kai Phelan.

Hall is a forward who is in his second spell at Sharpenhoe Road.

The 32-year-old spent 2019/20 on dual registration with league rivals AFC Dunstable and Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Biggleswade United.

He has also had two spells with AFC Dunstable where he was the league`s top scorer in 2016/17 with 33 goals which won him the `golden boot`.

He started out with the likes of Crawley Green, Bedford Town, Cranfield United, Dunstable Town and Barton before his first spell with AFC in 2014 and then returned to Bedford and Crawley Green before re-joining AFC from Kempston Rovers in January 2019.

Phelan returns to Barton on a more permanent basis for his third spell at Sharpenhoe Road.

The 19-year-old defender joined Southern League Premier Division Central side Hitchin Town in November 2019 on his return from a short period with Swedish second-tier side Ytterhogdals IK where he was one of four former young professionals released by Football League clubs at the end of the 2018/19 season.

The centre-back moved to Sweden in July after being released by Championship outfit Luton Town.

He began his Hatters career at the age of 7 and helped the youth team make it to the Cordial Cup quarter-finals in Germany.

He also spent time on loan with Barton in 2018/19 and again in 2019/20 when he joined on a `gentleman`s agreement`.
