Walton Casuals Bolster Attack

Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division South club Walton Casuals have added to their squad in recent days.

Casuals` pulled off a bit of a coup in securing the signature of prolific marksman Adam Coombes.

The 29-year-old joined Vanarama National League South side Welling United in July 2019 for his fourth spell at Park View Road.

After spending time with Chelsea and Notts County, for whom he made 6 League appearances, the former England under-16 and under-17 striker originally signed for Welling in 2016 from Bromley and scored over 30 goals, including a double hat-trick against Swindon Supermarine, before a move to Sutton United.

He later linked up with again Welling at the back end of the 2017/18 season before Billericay Town came in for him in the summer of 2018.

Another loan spell – 9 games and 4 goals - at Welling followed before he returned to Billericay to finish the season.

Another forward, Gabriel Odunaike, is another newcomer to the Elmbridge Sports Hub this season, although he has been with the club before.

He has played at Step 3 level before with Isthmian League Premier Division side Corinthian-Casuals and also had spells with the likes of Crowborough Athletic, Horsham and Bedfont amongst others.

Nathaniel Oseni is a powerful player who can perform in a number of defensive roles.

He is a product of the Fulham academy. He then enjoyed a successful trial with Manchester City and made several appearances for the under-18 side in 2012/13, aged just 15.

He signed his scholarship at the beginning of the following season, and whilst on City`s books, joined Swedish outfit Prespa Birlik on a season-long loan.

After returning to England and being released by City, he joined then-National League South side Whitehawk in December 2017.

In February 2018 he moved to Farnborough and in the following December, joined another Southern Premier South outfit, Harrow Borough.

The 23-year-old moves to Casuals from another league rival, Salisbury, who he had joined in August 2019.

Midfielder Tashan Hayden-Smith also becomes a new Stag.

The 24-year-old joins from Chertsey Town, where he had been since arriving from Isthmian South Central rivals Hanwell Town in February 2020.

He started out at Enfield Town and has also had spells with AFC Hillgate, Canvey Island, Northwood and Egham Town.

Pacey forward Zidan Akers has also checked into the Elmbridge Sports Hub.

The 21-year-old was with National League South side Hungerford Town since July 2019 having ended the 2018/19 season with Southern Division One South side Thatcham Town.

He signed for the Kingfishers from Basingstoke Town in March 2019.

He is a forward with electric pace who has previously played for Scottish side Hearts and Reading.

Championship side Millwall`s under-18 goalkeeper Leighton Fanshawe has also put pen-to-paper for Casuals.
